The experience Dr. Henderson brings to Premier Immediate Care, both as a manager and clinician, is intense and broad-based. From the mid 1980's until 1990 he worked in a variety of emergency rooms settings throughout Texas while being concurrently employed as a staff physician for a large ambulatory care group in Dallas/Fort Worth. In 1990, he became this group's Medical Director and it was his company that furnished professional staffing for the firm's 14 centers throughout the north Texas metroplex. Dr. Henderson's 120 physician professional association provided care for 250,000 annual patient visits. These urgent care centers also had accounts with 5500 companies and treated over 1200 patients per week for work related health issues.
Wishing to receive further professional managerial training, Dr. Henderson left for Boston in the summer of 1993 and completed a Masters in Public Health and an Occupational & Environmental Medicine residency at Harvard. He continued on to the business school and was graduated as one of only three physicians to complete the traditional Harvard MBA program in 1997.
