Immigration Physicals

Philip Henderson, MD, MPH has been designated as a Civil Surgeon by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and now performs affordable, quality immigration physicals in our Suwanee office. Please consult our provider schedule for days when Dr. Henderson is seeing patients. You do not need to schedule an appointment.  You may just walk in to the Suwanee office of Premier Immediate Care to begin your immigration physical. If Dr. Henderson is seeing patients on the day that you want to begin your physical then you may receive your physical and initial blood work/TB skin test on this day. If Dr. Henderson is not seeing patients on a day you would like to begin your physical the initial blood and TB skin test can be performed. Dr. Henderson would then be able to perform your physical on the day you come in for your TB skin test reading or a day soon after this.

Depending on the outcome of your TB and blood tests, it may be possible to complete an immigration physical within several days to a week. Our examinations are $200 for children and $250 for adults.  This includes:

  • Physical examination
  • Tuberculin (TB) skin test
  • Laboratory tests for syphilis
  • Chest x-ray (if necessary)  with an interpretation by a radiologist's
  • Review of your written vaccination and other health records

Additional charges will apply for immunizations, or any other medical testing that may be required. Payment is requested at the time of service.

One of the main functions of a Civil Surgeon is to verify that you are current on your CDC recommended vaccinations. If you have any medical records of previous vaccinations (also called immunizations) please bring those for inspection by Dr. Henderson. Further information about vaccine preventable diseases can be found on the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/vaccines-list.htm

Premier Immediate Care will keep your immigration physical paperwork until all tests have been performed. After this the paperwork will be released to you in a sealed envelope. Please do not open this envelope as it is required that it be presented to the USCIS while sealed. You will be provided a photocopy of the immigration physical for your records at no additional charge.

Dr. Henderson is not responsible for determining whether an applicant is actually available for adjustment in status. That determination is made by a USCIS officer after reviewing all relevant records, including the report of the medical examination.

While Premier Immediate Care has bilingual and multilingual staff available, it is still your responsibility to bring a translator.

For your convenience, we have provided a checklist to consult prior to visiting PIC.
